Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Chip – Natural Reptile Substrate

Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Chip (3 x 500g Bricks) is a natural coconut husk substrate designed for tropical, humid and naturalistic enclosures. The coarse chip texture helps create a more natural-looking enclosure base while supporting moisture retention and airflow.

This pack includes 3 compressed 500g bricks, which expand when water is added. Once prepared, the coconut chips can be used in terrariums, vivariums and bioactive-style setups where a humidity-supporting substrate is appropriate.

Key Benefits

  • Coconut husk chip substrate for reptile, amphibian and invertebrate enclosures

  • Suitable for tropical and humidity-loving setups where appropriate

  • Helps support moisture retention in the enclosure

  • Coarse chip texture allows airflow and drainage

  • Can be used alone or as part of a layered naturalistic setup

  • 3 x 500g compressed bricks for convenient storage and preparation

Suitable For

Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Chip may be suitable for:

  • Tropical reptile enclosures

  • Amphibian setups

  • Humidity-loving invertebrates

  • Snakes, geckos, frogs and toads where appropriate

  • Naturalistic terrariums and vivariums

  • Bioactive-style setups with suitable care planning

How to Use

Add water to expand the compressed coconut chip bricks, then allow the substrate to reach the right moisture level before placing it into the enclosure.

Use an appropriate substrate depth based on the species, enclosure size and setup requirements. The substrate can be used with hides, cork bark, leaf litter, moss, plants or other suitable enclosure décor.

Care Guidance

Moisture levels should be managed carefully based on the needs of the animal being kept. Avoid allowing the enclosure to become overly wet or unsuitable for the species.

Spot clean regularly and replace or refresh the substrate as needed. Always choose substrate based on the species, age, health and husbandry needs of the animal.
