The ShadeDweller ProT5 Kit is a slim, modern, and highly adaptable UV-B lighting solution, purpose-built for contemporary reptile care. It provides a complete lighting system specifically tailored to the needs of crepuscular and shade-dwelling species.

Each ShadeDweller ProT5 features a precision-designed curved reflector, which can be removed if required, to direct a UV-rich zone directly beneath the unit for effective and controlled exposure.

Which ShadeDweller lamp is right for you?

Selecting the appropriate ShadeDweller ensures safe and effective UV-B delivery for a wide range of species, including (but not limited to):

The ShadeDweller 7% UV-B lamp is designed to meet the requirements of crepuscular species such as Leopard Geckos. When installed at a distance of approximately 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) from the basking area, it provides access to essential UV energy in a controlled and reliable way.

For keepers using smaller or shallower enclosures where this recommended distance cannot be achieved, or for arboreal crepuscular species where décor is positioned close to the enclosure ceiling, the ShadeDweller Arboreal 2.4% version is often the more suitable option.

The ShadeDweller Arboreal 2.4% has been developed for safe use above mesh-topped enclosures and within planted vivariums where animals may climb close to the light source. It delivers an ideal UV Index for shade-dwelling species such as Crested Geckos and those within Ferguson Zones 1–2, supporting natural colour perception and an effective vitamin D3 cycle. Performance will vary depending on enclosure height, basking distance, climbing behaviour, and the size of the UV exposure zone required.

Both ShadeDweller UV-B lamps are designed for a 12-month service life before replacement is required.
